Our Story

We ride Marzocchi.
We always will.

Dr-Zocchi is an independent parts and documentation project dedicated to keeping Marzocchi forks from 1989–2018 alive — long after the $$$$ industry decided they weren't worth supporting anymore.

The Marzocchi Bomber Story starting in 1997

A Marzocchi fan, a worn-out fork, and a missing seal.

I've been riding Marzocchi forks since the 90s. XC600, DH3, Bomber Z1, Z1 BAM 130, 66, Shiver DC — the kind of suspension that defined a generation of mountain biking. When a fork needed a rebuild, the problem was always the same: the seals were gone. Unavailable. Discontinued.

Instead of buying a new fork, I figured out how to produce new skeleton NBR seals for MTB with the correct geometry, suitable materials, proper testing — and documented everything that worked. It took me years. I just did it. Problem solved.
The journey began.

Why this exists

Fox acquired Marzocchi. Then the parts disappeared.

In 2015, Fox acquired Marzocchi. By 2018, all spare part support for older forks ended abruptly — even main distributors had not been informed, online technical support and the knowledge base were closed without notice.

As far as we know, all remaining stock in Taiwan have been dumped. Owners of perfectly functional, well-loved forks suddenly had nowhere to turn.
The message was clear: 'buy a new fork from Fox' and 'we don't care about promises we made so loudly for the Marzocchi brand and users'.

That made me angry.

There is a massive global community of Marzocchi owners. These are not obsolete forks — they are well-engineered pieces of suspension history that deserve to keep running. Stopping parts supply is not a technical necessity. It's a business decision. And we disagree with it.

"So I created a public online documentation repository and started producing the spare parts we need to keep Marzocchi forks running."

What we do

Three pillars.

Open Documentation

Seal dimensions, forks list, oil & air charts, torque specs, rebuild guides, part numbers — everything we've learned, publicly available. Free, forever.

Spare Parts Production

Where parts no longer exist, we reverse-engineer and manufacture them. Seal kits, knobs & dials, axles, top caps, adapters, stanchions and more — made to spec, not approximated.

Community Support

We answer questions. We help identify the right seal for a 25-year-old fork. This is a hands-on, rider-to-rider operation.

What we believe

Right to repair. Full stop.

A well-made suspension fork should last decades. Marzocchi built theirs to run hard — they earned their reputation on World Cup tracks, in bike parks, and on every trail between them. Planned obsolescence through parts withdrawal is wasteful, costly for riders, and frankly disrespectful to the engineering legacy.

"We believe in the right to repair. We believe in documentation that is open, not locked behind dealership portals. We believe in manufacturing parts that should never have been discontinued."

— Founder, Dr-Zocchi

We are trying to make sure you never have to throw away a Marzocchi fork because of a simple NBR seal, a missing knob or a nut.
